nbn Rollout and Disconnection Dates

This schedule sets out the Disconnection Dates and related dates that apply in respect of the National Broadband Network rollout (nbn).

Note: Instances where Rollout Regions have the listed date of 02/02/2222 as their Disconnection Date represents HFC SAMs which are still undergoing nbn HFC Optimisation activity.  The Disconnection Date for these Rollout Regions will be updated to represent the new revised Disconnection Date at the time nbn re-release these Rollout Regions and makes them available to the market.

Cease Sale Schedule

 

This schedule sets out the Cease Sale Commencement Date for each nbn rollout region. Generally, Cease Sale will commence in a region 10 Business Days after the region’s Ready for Service Date/Disconnection Commencement Date.

 

Note that Cease Sale may not apply at premises that are serviceable by HFC.

About the schedules

The Ready For Service dates set out in the attached Disconnection Schedule (and other dates published by Telstra in relation to the disconnection of copper services) are determined based on dates notified to Telstra by nbn co under the Definitive Agreements and are subject to change by nbn co at any time. The Forecast Ready For Service dates published in this Disconnection Schedule are therefore made on a ‘best efforts’ basis only and provide an indicative view only of the rollout timing and Disconnection Schedule.

Telstra does not warrant or represent that the dates set out in the Disconnection Schedule are current or free from errors or omission.

Given this, the Disconnection Dates and other dates (particularly where these appear other than in the format dd/mm/yyyy, or which are listed as an “Expected” date) on the page are only indicative and should not be relied on as final timelines.


HFC Update – NBN Co has recently announced that it will stop selling nbn HFC services for a period of six to nine months, commencing 11 December 2017. Serviceability information and Disconnection Dates for premises in HFC rollout regions may change as a result of this announcement. Cease Sale may not apply at premises serviceable by HFC (which do not currently have an NBN HFC connection). Telstra will update this information once advised by NBN Co.

  • This schedule is provided to assist you to manage key dates associated with the Migration Window, concerning Cease Sale, the Order Stability Period and Disconnection. You should use it for these purposes only.

  1. An NBN rollout region or suburb (usually referred to as a Servicing Area Module (SAM)) is an area that is passed or intended to be passed by NBN Co’s Fixed Line Network. There may be a number of separate rollout regions or “SAMs” within a suburb for reasons of network architecture, specific geographic features, new premises growth etc.

    As a result, the NBN may not be rolled out to an entire suburb at the same time. Similarly, an NBN rollout region may cross the boundaries of adjoining suburbs.
    • Multiple Premises Sites (MPS) contain the string “MPS”. The term MPS refers to any development of two or more premises (also known as living units, premises or dwellings) that are joined by a common wall or property boundary and are generally managed by a Body Corporate. Examples of an MPS include apartments, town houses, retirement villages, groups of strata title units and the like. In addition to living units, an MPS can also include retail and commercial premises. A multi-dwelling unit (MDU) is a category of MPS.
    • Fibre-to-the-Basement (FTTB) contain the string “FTB”. A fibre is deployed to a network terminating device in a MDU and existing in-building wiring is used to deliver NBN services to the Premises in that MDU.
    • NBN Co acquired TransACT fibre (FTTP) network in Canberra. These contain the string “TRANSACT”.
  2. The NBN rollout region identifier relates to each SAM. This identifier distinguishes between different NBN rollout regions located within a particular Customer Service Area. For example, your customer may live in the listed Customer Service Area but may not be in the specific NBN rollout region or SAM that is declared “Ready for Service” on a particular date. Alternately, if your customer is in a SAM that is declared “Ready for Service” and a change to technology occurs for their Premises then the NBN rollout region identifier for this Premises will not change.

  3. The Expected Ready for Service date /Disconnection Commencement Date is the date when NBN Co expects the NBN to pass at least 90% of homes and businesses within the relevant NBN rollout region or SAM. For areas where the rollout of the NBN commenced before 7 March 2012 or networks acquired by NBN Co, services can be connected to the NBN prior to the Ready For Service Date. Areas where the rollout of the NBN commenced on or after 7 March 2012 services (other than trial or test services) can only be connected to the NBN after the Ready For Service Date. The Actual NBN Ready For Service date/DCD is the date on which the NBN Co migration window commences.
  4. We may apply an Order Stability Period immediately prior to and after the Disconnection Date. Currently this period is set to commence 5 Business Days after the Disconnection Date and continues until Managed Disconnection is completed, but we may choose to vary this in consultation with industry or may choose not to apply it at all. Further details will be provided as the NBN rollout progresses. During the Order Stability Period, Telstra will no longer accept most variations to existing services over copper. 4. We may apply an Order Stability Period immediately prior to and after the Disconnection Date. Currently this period is set to commence 5 Business Days after the Disconnection Date and continues until Managed Disconnection is completed, but we may choose to vary this in consultation with industry or may choose not to apply it at all. Further details will be provided as the NBN rollout progresses. During the Order Stability Period, Telstra will no longer accept most variations to existing services over copper.
  5. NBN Co can revise the Fixed Line Footprint to include one or more premises within a new “Infill Region”. Infill Regions in the NBN rollout schedule contain the string “INF” within the NBN rollout region identifier. The string “SCR” within the NBN rollout region identifier refers to Service Continuity Regions created by NBN Co for premises that were not NBN serviceable 6 months prior to the original Disconnection Date for the relevant rollout region. A new Disconnection Date has been assigned to these premises, which allows for a typical 12 month migration window. Please make sure you check the Disconnection Date set out in the NBN rollout schedule for these premises.
